Alright, hands up if you’re looking for a high-quality folding bed that you can put away during the day? I’ll be the first to admit it; living in smaller apartments or condos means that you have to find a way to save space. And I’ve discovered how to do just that by folding up and stowing away my bed during the day.

But just because I’ve got limited space doesn’t mean my comfort should be limited as well. That’s why I settled for nothing but the JAY-BE Crown Single Folding Bed.

Probably the closest thing to a standard bed I’ve seen from Jay Be, the Crown Single Folding Bed allows you to enjoy all the benefits of a regular bed without having to worry about using too much space.

That’s because in addition to being a folding bed, this beauty is actually designed for regular use. This is quite unlike most of Jay-Be’s folding beds that are really only good for the occasional use. So, how does this bed achieve such hardiness?

First off, the JAY-BE Crown Single Folding Bed makes use of an incredibly robust, heavy gauge steel frame that is built to last. The frame is finished in durable epoxy paint to give it a more attractive exterior.

As for the base, Jay Be went a bit different this time and decided to use high-quality square mesh so as to keep up with the constant folding and regular use. That’s what makes this bed durable; but what makes it comfortable?

Well, the mattress of course. Folding out into a cosy bed, the Crown Premier unfolds to reveal a full size deep spring interior mattress with wool comfort layers. Can I just say that of all the folding bed’s I’ve owned in the past, this one takes the cake with a very generous mattress?

See, it’s not just the fact that the mattress is thicker than you’d expect in a folding bed; Jay Be also incorporated state of the art technology and materials. The wool comfort layer topping on the mattress allows for temperature and humidity control so you can enjoy better sleep quality.

How easy is it to use?

In all respects, the JAY-BE Crown Single Folding Bed is well-built and more than simple enough for anyone to use. I’ve noticed that high user-friendliness is a trademark of all their folding beds.

Once the bed arrived, most of the work really goes into the assembly. However, it’s only minimal assembly where you just have to attach the headboard.

Similarly, folding and unfolding the Crown Premier is a breeze. The one-step folding action allows all the other legs to be automatically worked into a neat, compact package.

And while the steel frame takes the weight a bit higher, moving the bed from room to room has been made much easier thanks to the cleverly installed 360-degree castors. As always, your safety should always come first.

The last thing anyone wants is to have a bed that shifts all night and leaves scuff marks all over your wooden floors. That said, you might want to consider placing a rug or carpet under the bed to give it additional grip.

Conclusion

Superior, heavy duty steel construction, easy to use folding system, and a high quality, full size deep spring mattress to boot, the JAY-BE Crown Single Folding Bed might just be the best portable sleeping solution for space-conscious people. Rarely do you get a folding bed with a generously thick mattress, but I have to say, Jay Be nailed it.

Sure, there are a couple of issues such as the metal legs and the fact that you’ll have to cough up a pretty pound for this beauty. However, it’s apparent that you get great value for your money which is always a win.
