The third layer is a thing slice of soft poly foam. It’s work is to distribute weight and provide a comfortable transition to the dense base layer.

At the base, a thick layer of firm support foam ensures the mattress can support itself and last long without sagging.

2. Open cell foam for cooling

One of the most interesting features of the Casper mattress is in the top layer. This layer contains open cell foam. In other words, it has plenty of air spaces within it.

For better protection, consider buying a quality mattress protector. While you can wash the cover, you cannot wash the foam underneath. A mattress protector prevents any accidents from leaving permanent damage.

As for the foundation, the most important thing is to have rigid and strong support underneath the mattress. A platform bed or slated frame works well. You can also put it directly on the floor.

Anything else you should know?

Even the best mattresses consistently disappoint when it comes to one specific area: edge support. When you sit or lie close to Casper’s edges, the mattress quickly collapses under your weight.

My view

Casper is one of the hottest names in the mattress industry right now along with others like Leesa and Eve. I love how their product takes into account every single aspect of sleeping, including smell and bounce. The result is a masterfully crafted product that works for most people.
