With its modern design, creative array of features and one of the most compact profiles I have ever seen on a folding bed, the JAY BE Revolution Folding Bed definitely stands out in a crowd. Even with its compact dimensions, this beauty still manages to offer far more comfort than your average folding bed.

Who says that you can’t have the best of both worlds? If you’re looking for a portable folding bed that offers more than average comfort levels, then you might want to hear what I have to say. With its unique, patent-pending folding mechanism and quite the luxurious mattress, here’s my experience with the JAY-BE Revolution Folding Bed.

JAY BE Revolution Folding Bed review

What are you buying?

I’ll come right out and say it; it’s not too often that a folding bed can claim to be more comfortable than your average bed. But in this case, the manufacturer wouldn’t be exaggerating. The JAY-BE Revolution Folding Bed definitely impresses with higher levels of comfort.

This is mainly due to the incorporation of a plush, luxurious pocket sprung mattress with over 400 individual springs. The mattress is then topped with sumptuous filling that gradually contours to your body for exceptional comfort. Jay Be took things a step further by using their J Tex sprung base system for a pretty good balance of full body support and durability.

Now for the real reason why you’re actually buying this bed. Jay Be made use of modern materials and a highly innovative design to achieve an even more compact shape. This is all thanks to a patent pending design that allows this particular bed to fold more compact than traditional folding beds.

So even while exceptionally comfortable, this baby still takes up less space for optimum storage. This folding bed rests on 360-degree castors that allow it to be easily moved from room to room. The full-width headboard and oak effect make for some neat finishing touches.

How easy is it to use?

This is clearly evident from the moment you unfold the bed. The legs open up at the head and feet while the castors give way to mid-support legs to make up the base.

But that’s not what really caught my eye. I’m used to beds where you have to meticulously assemble impossible pieces. So I was really glad to see that the JAY BE Revolution Folding Bed also has an automatic folding and unfolding mechanism that sets it up effortlessly.

Apart from the patent pending folding mechanism that saves you space, I also found the 360 degree castors quite helpful. Sure, the bed might only weigh around 16 Kg which is light enough for one person to lift. But why exert yourself when you could easily roll the bed from one room to the other?

And just in case things get a bit confusing for you, Jay Be included a detailed user guide that should help you literally make heads and feet of your new bed. But there is one thing I noticed that I have to share. If you’re a bit on the heavy-boned side like me, then the bed and mattress tend to sink a tad deeper.

Pros

  • Uniquely compacting patent pending folding mechanism
  • Plush and highly luxurious 400 pocket sprung mattress
  • Easy install full width headboard

Cons

  • Be gentle with the slats otherwise they’ll break

Anything else you should know?

Recently, Jay Be has become one of my favourite home brands for obvious reasons. It’s hard to ignore the value you get for your money. However, I have to call them out on one crucial mistake they made when designing the JAY BE Revolution Folding Bed. They just left the legs naked and exposed which is a nightmare for my wooden floors.

The manufacturer could have at least used some rubber padding to help save laminate and wooden flooring. But if you have concrete floors or a carpeted room, then this shouldn’t be much of a problem.

Conclusion

With its modern design, creative array of features and one of the most compact profiles I have ever seen on a folding bed, the JAY BE Revolution Folding Bed definitely stands out in a crowd. Even with its compact dimensions, this beauty still manages to offer far more comfort than your average folding bed. But although the 400 individual pocket springs in the mattress make it quite comfortable, I still wouldn’t recommend regular use as the comfort levels gradually wear down.
